Create design onlineAbout Superbells® Pomegranate Punch Calibrachoa
Superbells® Pomegranate Punch is a trailing annual calibrachoa with vivid red flowers centered by a dark, nearly black eye. The contrast gives baskets and container combinations a strong focal point, while cascading stems spill over pot or window-box edges. Proven Winners lists 6–12 inches tall, a 12–24 inch spread and trailing stems up to 24 inches, with spring-to-fall bloom; it is grown as an annual outside USDA zones 9–11.
## Siting and care
Provide part sun to full sun and use a fast-draining container mix. Calibrachoa roots are sensitive to constantly wet soil, so allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings without letting the plant wilt severely. The [University of Minnesota Extension](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/calibrachoa) recommends sunny conditions, acidic and well-drained media, and regular feeding for container-grown plants. In garden beds, choose only reliably drained soil.
## Seasonal display
The [Proven Winners cultivar profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/calibrachoa/superbells-pomegranate-punch-calibrachoa) lists spring, summer and fall flowers and notes that spent blooms need not be removed to maintain flowering. Use it as a spiller in mixed annual containers or let it trail from a hanging basket. The breeder’s hardiness range is USDA zones 9–11; colder winters call for seasonal replacement rather than relying on outdoor survival.
## Maintenance
Water when the potting mix begins to dry, feed regularly during active growth according to label directions, and lightly shorten stems if they become uneven. Remove damaged growth as needed; routine deadheading is unnecessary.
