Superbena® Stormburst is the named Verbena selection ‘RIKA18302M’ in the Superbena series. Its purple-and-white striped flower pattern may occasionally produce solid violet or white blooms, a documented color variation for this selection.
## Garden Use
The exact profile lists a mature height range of 6–12 inches, spread of 18–30 inches, and trailing stems up to 24 inches. It flowers from spring through fall and is listed for USDA zones 8a–11b. Use it at a sunny border edge, in a landscape bed, or spilling from a container or hanging basket. The [Proven Winners Stormburst profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/p/10868) provides the selection code, flower pattern, exposure, garden size, and care notes. The U.S. patent record names the same cultivar and gives its issue date, 4 September 2018; see [USPP29640](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP29640P2/en).
## Growing Conditions
The profile describes a mounding, trailing habit, heat and drought tolerance, and butterfly visits. Give the plant part sun to sun and well-drained soil. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings rather than allowing it to stay soggy.
## Maintenance
Proven Winners says deadheading is unnecessary for continued flowering. If an unusual solid-color branch is not desired, the grower may trim that portion; otherwise no action is needed. Light midseason trimming can also help keep the plant full.
