About SuperCal® Artist Rose Petchoa

SuperCal Artist Rose is a petchoa hybrid, identified in the Canadian cultivar registry by denomination SAKPXC010. Its single flowers are mainly white with conspicuous pink and purple veining and yellow tones near the throat, as described in the cultivar record. See the [Canadian cultivar registry entry](https://active.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/pbrpov/cropreport/petcal/app00009069e.shtml). ## Growing conditions The registry describes upright growth and green foliage. Sakata describes SuperCal as a petunia–calibrachoa annual used for bedding and vegetative production. For general petunia-family care, choose a sunny position and moist, well-drained soil. Petchoa combines petunia and calibrachoa parentage, so site conditions and growth can vary with weather and culture. Sakata’s [SuperCal information](https://sakataornamentals.com/plantname/supercal/) describes the series and its growing resources. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone moist while allowing excess water to drain freely. Avoid very heavy soil, which can reduce petunia flowering. Occasional late-season pinching can help keep petunias compact and blooming; see [Illinois Extension’s petunia guide](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) for this general care advice.
