Create design onlineAbout Supertunia Black Cherry® Petunia
Supertunia® Black Cherry® is an annual petunia with deep burgundy-red flowers marked by dark accents. Its low, mounding stems spread about 18–24 inches and may trail as much as 36 inches, making this vigorous selection useful in a hanging basket or along the front of a sunny bed.
## In the Garden
The dark flowers give containers and mixed plantings a strong focal color, while the trailing habit can spill over a pot edge. Proven Winners lists it for spring through fall bloom and notes that spent flowers do not need routine deadheading.
## Growing Conditions
Give it part sun to full sun and average garden soil. Keep the root zone evenly moist; the Proven Winners guide advises watering before the plant wilts severely. The listed USDA hardiness range is 10a–11b. Use a container with drainage, and allow room for the stems to spread.
## Maintenance
Feed regularly, especially in containers. If growth becomes long or open by midsummer, trim the longest stems lightly; Proven Winners recommends removing no more than about one-fifth at a time. Follow fertilizer label directions, and continue regular watering through hot weather. [Proven Winners plant details](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/petunia/supertunia-black-cherry-petunia)
