Create design onlineAbout Supertunia® Blue Veined Petunia
Supertunia Blue Veined is a low-growing petunia with lavender flowers and a strongly trailing habit. Its long stems spill from baskets and window boxes, and the plant also works along the front of a sunny garden bed.
## Placement
Give this petunia part sun to sun. Proven Winners lists it for containers, window boxes, hanging baskets, and landscape use, with a mature spread of about 24–36 inches and a low 4–12-inch garden height. It blooms from spring through fall and may continue until hard frost in suitable conditions.
## Care
Keep the soil consistently moist and water before the plant wilts severely. Average soil fertility is suitable. Proven Winners describes Supertunia petunias as heat tolerant and self-cleaning; butterflies and hummingbirds may visit the flowers.
## Maintenance
Deadheading is unnecessary for continued bloom. Feed regularly according to fertilizer label directions, including a controlled-release feed at planting and water-soluble feeding during the season. In midsummer, trim the longest stems, removing no more than about one fifth of the plant at a time, then feed to support fresh growth.
