Create design onlineAbout Supertunia® Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia
Supertunia® Mini Vista® Yellow brings bright yellow flowers to sunny containers, hanging baskets, and landscape plantings. Proven Winners lists the selection as mounding and trailing, 6–12 inches tall, 18–24 inches wide, and flowering from spring into fall.
## Site and season
Give this petunia part sun to full sun, and leave room for stems that can trail up to 24 inches. Its low profile suits basket edges and the front of a mixed planting. The [plant profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/petunia/supertunia-mini-vista-yellow-petunia) identifies the selection as ‘WGPESMVYEL’ and lists USPP 35,694 and Canadian patent 7,280.
## Growing
Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension notes that petunias bloom poorly in very heavy soil; in a pot, use a free-draining mix and check moisture more often during warm weather. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain.
## Maintenance
Occasional pinching late in the season can keep growth compact and flowering well. Many small-flowered petunias need little deadheading, though removing faded blooms can tidy the display. See [Illinois Extension’s petunia guidance](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) for general care.
