Surefire® Cherry Cordial™ Begonia

Surefire® Cherry Cordial™ is an upright annual begonia with vivid red flowers and deep chocolate-black foliage. Proven Winners lists flowering from spring through fall and describes this selection as heat tolerant and suitable for sun or shade. ## Flowers and placement The dark foliage contrasts with the flowers in borders, mass plantings, and mixed containers. The profile gives a mature height of 12–24 inches and a spread of 18–24 inches; those source ranges replace the live record’s incompatible 2 foot point measurements. Use the range to leave room around neighboring plants. ## Light and season Proven Winners reports exposure from full sun to full shade and flowering from planting until frost. The profile lists USDA zones 10a–11b, so gardeners in colder areas generally use it as a warm-season annual. ## Maintenance Plant in well-drained soil and keep moisture consistent while the plant establishes and during dry weather. Container media can dry faster than garden beds, so check it regularly. Proven Winners says deadheading is not needed for continued bloom and notes that the plant looks best with consistent moisture.
