Create design onlineAbout Blutopia® Bacopa
Blutopia® is a low, spreading bacopa that trails over the edge of a container and bears lavender-blue flowers. PanAmerican Seed lists its bloom seasons as early spring, spring, and autumn, describes a mounded habit with slightly smaller leaves than Snowtopia, and gives a 6-inch height with an 18–24-inch spread. ## Site and placement
Grow it in full or partial sun and leave room for the stems to cascade. The breeder recommends it for mixed containers and large planters. Bacopa performs best in moist, well-drained soil; steady moisture supports flowering.
## Seasonal interest
The breeder lists flowering in early spring, spring, and autumn. Use the blue blooms to carry color through mixed containers over those seasons.
## Maintenance
Keep the soil evenly moist, especially in containers. The University of Illinois Extension notes that dry soil can interrupt flowering and cause buds to drop. PanAmerican Seed states that pinching is not required for its bacopa crop. In colder climates, grow it as a seasonal annual.
