Deep red buds open to soft pink flowers on large panicles earlier than common lilacs. Easy to care for, just prune once after blooming for best flowers the next year. Tolerant of dry, alkaline, sandy or clay soils and urban pollution as well as hot summers and cold winters. Attracts pollinators and deer resistant.
