Create design onlineAbout Dream Cloud™ Manchurian Lilac
Dream Cloud™ is a compact Manchurian lilac with fluffy lavender-pink panicles, a sweet fragrance, and foliage that turns purple as nights cool in autumn. Its four-to-five-foot mature size and flowers for cutting suit borders, hedges, and paths or patios where the scent can be enjoyed.
## Flowering and Form
Monrovia lists Dream Cloud as a moderate-growing, deciduous selection with early-summer flowers, green leaves, and improved resistance to pests and disease. The fragrant flower panicles are showy and plentiful, and the profile notes that they attract pollinators; deer and rabbits are also listed as resistant. Its [Dream Cloud plant profile](https://www.monrovia.com/dream-cloudtm-lilac.html) gives the exact cultivar name and a USDA hardiness range of 3–8.
## Placement
Grow in full sun and well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season; once established, water when the top two inches of soil become dry. The compact plant works well near a walkway or patio, in a border, or as a hedge, and its flowers can be cut for indoor arrangements.
## Maintenance
Fertilize in early spring if needed and prune immediately after flowering. Maintain regular water during establishment, then reduce watering frequency as the root system settles in, increasing it during prolonged dry weather or before spring bloom.
