Miss Canada is a late-flowering Preston lilac with fragrant pink flowers and a rounded, spreading shrub form. Its bloom follows many common lilacs, helping extend the spring display.
## Flowers and form
The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/65545/syringa-miss-canada/details) accepts *Syringa* ‘Miss Canada’ and describes rosy buds opening to pink flowers in early summer. [Chicago Botanic Garden](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/syringa-x-prestoniae-miss-canada-miss-canada-lilac) uses *Syringa × prestoniae* ‘Miss Canada’ and notes its pink flowers follow common lilacs. Cornell reports an upright rounded plant around 10 feet tall and wide; other nursery references give different mature ranges, so allow room for site and age variation.
## Siting
Plant in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It can be used as a specimen or flowering hedge where the mature shrub will not crowd nearby plants. Iowa State Extension’s [lilac guidance](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-lilacs-home-garden) covers general siting and after-bloom pruning.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and extended dry weather. Prune after flowering if shaping is needed, preserving the buds that form for next year.
