Durango® Gold French Marigold

Durango® Gold is an upright French marigold (Tagetes patula) in the Durango series. PanAmerican Seed lists the PAS2251 selection at 10–12 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide, with 2–2.5-inch flowers. ## Growing Conditions Plant it in sun and space plants 6–10 inches apart. Ball Seed lists medium water needs and describes bushy plants with fragrant flowers and scented foliage; it also notes heat tolerance and low maintenance. The exact selection profile is available from [PanAmerican Seed Durango Gold](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/040800470002119/french-marigold-durango-gold/) and [Ball Seed plant information](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=040800470002119). Tagetes patula belongs to Asteraceae according to [Plants of the World Online](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/252146-1). ## Seasonal Interest The published flowering season includes spring, late spring, summer and late summer. Gold-colored blooms and an upright compact habit work well in borders and mass plantings. ## Maintenance Keep moisture at a medium level and fertilize every two weeks according to Ball Seed's grower guidance. Remove faded flower heads when desired to keep the planting neat.
