About Durango® Tangerine French Marigold

Durango® Tangerine is an upright French marigold selection in PanAmerican Seed’s Durango® series. It brings a tangerine anemone-type flower display to sunny annual beds and containers from spring through late summer. ## Flowers and form PanAmerican Seed lists this selection as Tagetes patula, with an upright habit, 10–12 inches of height and 6–8 inches of width. The Durango® series is early blooming, with strong stems, abundant flowers and extra-large anemone-type blooms. [See the Durango® Tangerine product details](https://www.panamseed.com/products/040800470005522/french-marigold-durango-tangerine/). ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun and average, well-drained soil kept evenly moist. NC State Extension describes French marigolds as compact, bushy annuals suited to beds, containers and border edging; it also notes their flowers are useful for cutting and attract pollinators. [Read the French marigold profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/tagetes-patula/). ## Maintenance Water regularly during dry weather, especially while plants establish. Remove faded flowers to encourage continued bloom. Sow outside after frost danger has passed and the soil has warmed, or start seed indoors before transplanting.
