Create design onlineAbout Fireball French Marigold
Fireball French marigold is a compact annual whose flowers change color as they age, opening red before developing bronze, gold, and orange tones. The changing display is most pronounced in cooler early-spring conditions and moves faster in warmer weather. ## Garden Use
The mounded plants reach about 10–12 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide. Use them in a sunny bed, border, edging, or patio container where the shifting blooms can be seen up close. PanAmerican lists a long production-season bloom window; NC State describes garden flowering from spring into fall when faded flowers are removed. ## Growing Conditions
Grow in full sun or part shade in average, well-drained soil that stays evenly moist. Ball rates its water need as medium. French marigolds attract pollinators, have fragrant flowers and foliage, and are deer resistant; drought tolerance applies after establishment. ## Maintenance
Water regularly while plants establish and during extended dry weather, especially in pots. Remove spent blooms to support continued flowering and keep the planting neat. Give containers drainage and check their moisture more often than garden beds.
