About Flamenco French Marigold

Flamenco is an upright French marigold with yellow-centered blooms and red-tipped petals. The breeder presents it as a distinct bicolor selection for patio containers and garden planting, with flowering from spring through late summer. Set them in a sunny border, edging, bed, or container; their upright habit and bicolor flowers work well near the front of a mixed planting. Ball identifies the flowers as fragrant and the foliage as scented, and notes bee attraction and heat tolerance. Ball lists medium water needs. NC State describes French marigolds as pollinator-attracting and deer resistant, with drought tolerance once established. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/tagetes-patula/) ## Maintenance Water during establishment and in prolonged dry periods, with closer checks for container plants. Remove faded flower heads to help maintain flowering and tidy appearance. Allow the soil surface to drain between waterings rather than leaving pots in standing water.
