Its small size makes it useful near paths or at the front of a seasonal bed. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. The species grows in clay, loam, or sandy soils; keep soil moist but well drained. PanAmerican describes the Hot Pak series as bred to continue flowering through high summer temperatures and humidity. The series is intended to maintain a compact form while flowering through summer heat. ## Maintenance Water as plants establish and during prolonged dry weather, with more frequent checks for containers. Remove spent flowers to help extend the bloom display and use pots with drainage.
