Temple of Bloom® Seven-Son Flower

Temple of Bloom® is a compact selection of seven-son flower with white late-summer blooms followed by vivid red sepals in autumn. This deciduous shrub or small tree develops an upright, multi-stemmed form and peeling bark that adds interest after leaf fall. ### Site and seasonal interest Plant in sun or part sun with well-drained soil. Exact-selection size descriptions vary: The Sill lists 6–10 feet high and wide, the European Proven Winners page lists 1.5–1.8 m high and 1.2–1.5 m wide, and the US Proven Winners listing gives a 15–20 foot garden height with a 6–10 foot spread. Leave room for the broader US size and allow for climate and pruning. Proven Winners lists USDA zones 5–9 and summer-to-fall flowering; the cultivar patent describes white petals and red-purple sepals that elongate in fall. ### Garden use Use it as a specimen or small ornamental tree where flowers, autumn color, and exfoliating bark can be seen through the seasons.
