Tiny Quick Fire® is the trade name for Hydrangea paniculata ‘SMNHPSB’, a dwarf selection of panicle hydrangea. Its upright, deciduous growth stays compact, with flowerheads that open white and age to pink and red-pink.
## Flowers and placement
The breeder lists mature dimensions of 18–36 inches tall and 24–36 inches wide, with hardiness across USDA zones 3a–9b. Its summer flowers emerge early, mature through pink shades, and form on new wood; the green foliage stays attractive through the growing season. This small shrub suits front borders, containers, edging, low hedges, group plantings, and specimen use; the breeder also notes that its flowers attract bees and butterflies. The official profile identifies the cultivar as ‘SMNHPSB’ (USPP 34,468; Canadian certificate 7,701). ## Growing conditions
Grow it in full sun in cooler climates or part sun where summers are hot; some afternoon shade helps protect flowers in warmer areas. Use moist, well-drained soil and average water. The shrub is somewhat drought tolerant once established, but water it during dry spells to protect flower quality. Soil pH does not change bloom color. Panicle hydrangeas flower on current-season growth, and their shallow roots benefit from mulch. ## Maintenance
Trim in late winter or early spring, shortening the main stems by about one-third and removing thin or damaged branches. Since flowers form on new wood, spring pruning supports the next flush. A slow-release fertilizer may be applied in spring if desired; no special fertilizer is required.
