Create design onlineAbout Touch of Blush False Sunflower
Heliopsis helianthoides 'Touch of Blush' is a compact false sunflower with green-and-white variegated leaves that flush pink on new growth. Its layered, semi-double yellow flowers appear from summer into fall and attract bees and butterflies ([Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/heliopsis/touch-blush-false-sunflower-heliopsis-helianthoides)).
## Site and seasonal use
Use this shorter perennial along the front or middle of a sunny border, in a container, or in a small pollinator planting. Proven Winners lists a mature height of 18–20 inches and a spread of 16–20 inches, matching the size labels already in the catalog; the existing metric values are retained.
## Growing conditions
Plant in part sun to full sun and average, well-drained garden soil. Water during establishment and prolonged dry weather, especially in containers, while avoiding persistently soggy soil. The 4–9 hardiness range is the breeder's published range.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower heads when you want a tidier look or hope to encourage additional blooms; deadheading is optional for a long flowering season. In cold-winter gardens, a light winter mulch can reduce freeze-thaw heaving around the crown.
