About Cheddar Globeflower

Cheddar globeflower is an upright, clump-forming perennial with semi-double, pale creamy-yellow flowers and deeply divided green foliage. It blooms from late spring into early summer and is valued for bringing color to moist garden sites. ## Landscape Use Plant it in a border, cottage garden, meadow edge, or cut-flower planting where the clump has room to develop. The RHS lists mature height and spread at about 0.5–1 metre (roughly 1.6–3.3 feet), while the Chicago Botanic Garden describes plants near 60 centimetres tall. Leave enough room for a clump to spread without crowding neighboring plants. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist soil that does not dry out. The RHS lists clay and loam and notes that the plant also tolerates poorly drained ground; its entry gives acidic, neutral, or alkaline pH. It can suit a bog-style planting when moisture is dependable. ## Maintenance Cut back the flowering stems after bloom to refresh the foliage; the RHS notes that hard cutting can encourage further flowering. For propagation, divide clumps in spring as new growth begins.
