About Northern Japanese Hemlock Tree

Tsuga diversifolia, or Northern Japanese hemlock, is a graceful evergreen conifer featuring a dense, conical habit that often becomes shrubby in cultivation. Its short, glossy dark green needles are distinguished by two vivid white stomatal bands underneath and notched tips. This slow-growing species thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial to full shade. Notably resistant to hemlock woolly adelgid, it is an excellent choice for woodland gardens or cool, humid climates.
