About Yellow Alder

Yellow alder is a rounded evergreen subshrub with toothed green leaves and bright yellow five-petaled flowers that open in the morning and close later in the day. In warm climates it flowers freely and works well in borders, mass plantings and low ground cover. Grow it in well-drained soil in sun to partial shade with moderate water. It can self-seed; manage plants to prevent escape where naturalized.
