About Tuscan Sun Perennial Sunflower

Heliopsis helianthoides 'Tuscan Sun' is a compact perennial sunflower with upright stems, green foliage, and golden-yellow flowers. This Proven Winners cultivar has a long summer-to-fall display, tolerates heat, and attracts bees and butterflies ([Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/heliopsis/tuscan-sun-perennial-sunflower-heliopsis-helianthoides)). ## Site and seasonal use Plant it in part sun to full sun in the middle of a border, in a container, or where its flowers can be cut for arrangements. Published mature dimensions are 24–36 inches tall and 20–24 inches wide, in line with the existing metric values and labels; those size fields are retained. ## Growing conditions Average garden soil and moisture suit this selection. It tolerates heat and somewhat dry soil once established; water new plants until rooted, then increase irrigation during prolonged dry spells. Good air circulation helps keep the foliage visible through the season. ## Maintenance Staking is generally unnecessary for this compact cultivar. Remove spent flower heads if you want to encourage more blooms or limit self-seeding, though deadheading is not needed to sustain a long bloom period. Cut stems back after the foliage declines.
