Vanessa™ Compact Bordeaux Verbena

Vanessa™ Compact Bordeaux is a Verbena hortensis selection in Danziger’s Vanessa™ Compact series. Its named Bordeaux flower color and compact, branching form suit containers, hanging baskets, ground cover, and landscape plantings. ### Flowers and habit Danziger lists early flowering, single medium flowers, and a compact growth habit. The Bordeaux product profile gives a mature feature range of 6–8 inches in height and 10–14 inches in width. The breeder describes Vanessa Compact as holding color into summer heat and reports that the series was selected for powdery mildew tolerance. ### Placement and care The product page lists pots, hanging baskets, ground cover, and landscape use. Allow space for the plant to fill outward without crowding nearby plants. As a general guide for verbenas, the RHS recommends full sun and well-drained soil (https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/verbena/growing-guide). For a pot or basket, use a container with drainage and monitor the mix during warm weather. See the [Bordeaux product profile](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/vanessa-compact-bordeaux/) and [Vanessa Compact series profile](https://www.danzigeronline.com/series_annuals/vanessa-compact/) for the published selection details. ## Maintenance Lightly trim stems when needed to keep the planting within its space, and remove faded or damaged growth during routine tidying. Check container moisture regularly in warm, dry weather.
