It describes verbenas as summer-flowering plants for borders, containers and hanging baskets, with flowers visited by bees and butterflies. These are general Verbena recommendations; use the exact selection’s published habit and dimensions when planning spacing. [RHS growing guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/verbena/growing-guide) ### Seasonal color Blue Delicious adds a blue color note to a seasonal planting and can be combined with contrasting foliage or flowers. Choose a container with drainage holes or a garden position where water does not remain around the roots. ## Maintenance Water after planting while roots establish, then check the soil during warm, dry periods. Allow excess water to drain, and remove faded flower clusters when a tidier display is desired.
