It describes verbenas as summer-flowering plants for borders, containers and hanging baskets, and notes that their flowers attract bees and butterflies. These are general Verbena recommendations; choose placement based on the exact selection’s form and the space available. [RHS growing guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/verbena/growing-guide) ### Seasonal color Use Deep Purple as a purple flowering accent among contrasting foliage or neighboring blooms. Leave room for the plant to grow without crowding and provide drainage in beds or containers. ## Maintenance Water after planting while roots establish, then check the soil during warm, dry periods. Allow excess water to drain freely. Remove faded flower clusters when a tidier appearance is preferred.
