Quartz XP Red with Eye Verbena

Quartz XP Red with Eye is a named red-flowered selection distinguished by its conspicuous white flower eye. Ball identifies it as Verbena x hybrida and describes mounded plants that flower from spring into autumn, attract bees and butterflies, and tolerate heat and frost. The series is slightly spreading and suited to beds and mixed containers. Ball lists this selection in Quartz XP, whose compact plants work well in seasonal displays. Its eye pattern distinguishes it from the solid-color Scarlet and Purple XP forms. ## Maintenance Grow in full sun and well-drained soil with moderate watering. Check pots regularly in warm weather and remove faded flower clusters to keep the plant neat.
