Quicktime™ Blue Purple Jump Up is a compact horned violet with blue-purple flowers for cool-season displays. The F1 selection brings early spring and autumn color to containers, borders and bedding.
## Flowers and form
The [PanAmerican Quicktime catalog](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/18324_PASCatalog2020_Final_Allpages_LR.pdf) describes the series as compact, uniform and well-branched, with a 6–8 inch height and spread. Blue and purple petals give this named selection its distinctive bicolor look.
## Growing conditions
Plant in full sun or part shade and use humusy soil that remains moist but drains well. The [NC State Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/viola-cornuta/common-name/horned-violet/) describes suitable light and soil for horned violets and notes their value to bees and butterflies. Flowering is strongest in cool weather.
## Garden use
Set plants along a border, in bedding displays or in containers. Their compact form works well at the edge of a path or grouped in a seasonal pot.
## Maintenance
Water when the soil begins to dry, while allowing excess water to drain. Remove faded blooms and trim tired plants as the weather warms.
