Quicktime™ Mickey Viola

Quicktime™ Mickey is a compact horned violet with purple upper petals, pale lower petals and a yellow center. Its patterned flowers add early spring and autumn color to seasonal planting. ## Flowers and form The [PanAmerican Quicktime catalog](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/18324_PASCatalog2020_Final_Allpages_LR.pdf) describes the series as compact, uniform and well-branched, with a 6–8 inch height and spread. Mickey’s contrasting colors make the flowers easy to appreciate close up. ## Growing conditions Grow it in full sun or part shade in humusy soil that remains moist and drains well. The [NC State Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/viola-cornuta/common-name/horned-violet/) describes horned violets as suitable for these conditions and notes their value to bees and butterflies. The Quicktime series is intended for cool-season displays. ## Garden use Use Mickey in borders, bedding displays and containers. A group makes a bright seasonal accent beside a path or entrance, while individual plants bring detail to a mixed pot. ## Maintenance Keep the soil evenly moist without leaving pots in standing water. Remove faded blooms and trim tired growth as temperatures warm.
