Quicktime™ Yellow Blotch Viola

Quicktime™ Yellow Blotch is a Viola cornuta selection with medium-yellow flowers in PanAmerican Seed’s Quicktime series. The 2021 catalog describes compact, uniform plants that flower freely in early spring and autumn, with a 6–8 inch height and spread range. [PanAmerican Seed’s Quicktime catalog](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/PAS_2021_NewVarietyCatalog_21NV_2075528.pdf) ## Garden use Use this seasonal viola in bedding, containers, border edges, and ground-cover plantings. North Carolina State Extension describes Viola cornuta as useful in borders and as ground cover, and notes that its flowers attract bees and butterflies. [North Carolina State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/viola-cornuta/common-name/horned-violet/) ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun or partial shade in humusy, moist, well-drained soil. The species guide describes rapid growth and says flowering tends to slow during extended summer heat. ## Maintenance Keep the soil moist while plants establish, with good drainage. Remove spent flowers to encourage new buds, and cut plants back after a hot spell if you want to encourage another flush as temperatures cool.
