About Matrix® Beaconsfield Pansy

Matrix® Beaconsfield is an extra-large-flowered, mounded pansy in the Matrix series. PanAmerican lists early spring, spring, autumn and winter bloom seasons and an 8-inch height with an 8–10 inch spread. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun or partial shade and in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. The [PanAmerican Beaconsfield profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/046704283000481/pansy-matrix-beaconsfield/) describes the Matrix series as uniform in timing and habit, with large flowers that hold through summer and autumn production conditions. For garden use, the [NC State Extension pansy profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/viola-x-wittrockiana/) recommends consistently moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. ## Garden Uses Use this compact cultivar in beds, borders and containers, or plant in groups for a coordinated seasonal display. The Matrix series is marketed as low maintenance and for uniform color striping in professional landscapes; pansies also suit bedding and mass plantings. ## Maintenance Deadhead spent flowers to extend the bloom period. Remove pansies when summer heat ends their display, as recommended by NC State Extension.
