Matrix® Midnight Glow Pansy

Matrix® Midnight Glow is a compact, mounded pansy whose flowers have a yellow center surrounded by a deep-violet halo. PanAmerican Seed lists an 8-inch height, an 8–10-inch spread, and flowering in early spring, spring, autumn, and winter. ## Growing Conditions Choose full sun to part shade and humus-rich soil that stays moist while draining well. North Carolina Extension describes pansies as semi-evergreen, medium-growing annuals and lists clay, loam, and sandy soil, along with butterflies and pollinators. It also recommends containers, hanging baskets, borders, and mass plantings. See the [North Carolina Extension pansy profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/viola-x-wittrockiana/) for general care and the exact [PanAmerican Seed product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/046704283022047/pansy-matrix-midnight-glow/) for this selection. ## Maintenance Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Water during dry weather to keep the root zone moist, while allowing excess water to drain. Matrix is described as a low-maintenance series; regular checks help keep containers and beds tidy.
