Create design onlineAbout Interlaken White Seedless Grape
Interlaken is an early seedless grape with small berries that ripen from green toward golden tones. It is used as a table grape and may also be made into jelly, wine, or raisins.
## In the garden
Train its semi-upright growth on a trellis or fence in a sunny location. The [cultivar profile](https://doubleavineyards.com/products/interlaken/) lists USDA zones 5–8 and identifies Interlaken as an early grape. University of Massachusetts Extension describes it as a sister seedling of Himrod that ripens earlier and is useful in cool, short-season areas.
## Growing conditions
As a Vitis grape, it is a deciduous climber with small green flowers, as described in the [RHS Vitis profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/19033/vitis-labrusca/details).
Grapes need full sun and well-drained soil. A sandy loam is suitable, and Minnesota Extension recommends watering young vines regularly while established vines generally need irrigation in dry periods. Leave room for shoots and fruiting canes along the support.
## Maintenance
Prune annually before spring growth and secure the remaining canes to the trellis. For practical training and pruning guidance, see the [Minnesota grape-growing guide](https://extension.umn.edu/fruit/growing-grapes-home-garden) and [UC IPM grape guide](https://ipm.ucanr.edu/home-and-landscape/cultural-tips-for-growing-grape/).
