Pink Ice™ Japanese wisteria produces fragrant, pale rose flowers tipped with purple in spring and summer. Its long hanging clusters suit a sunny garden structure or a trained standard where there is room for the mature framework.
## Growing conditions
Choose full sun for the strongest flowering, though partial shade is tolerated. Plant in moist but well-drained soil; the RHS lists chalk, clay, loam, and sand, with acidic, alkaline, or neutral pH. [The RHS Pink Ice profile describes its flowers, fragrance, and growing conditions](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/50969/wisteria-floribunda-pink-ice/details).
## Garden use
Use it as a spring feature near a patio or path, where the fragrant racemes can be appreciated. Wisteria is vigorous, and sturdy support is important for its twining stems.
## Maintenance
Prune twice yearly to manage long shoots and encourage flowering, with summer and winter pruning. Keep the framework securely supported, and keep seeds and other plant parts away from children and pets. [RHS pruning guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/wisteria/pruning-guide).
