Create design onlineAbout Snow Showers™ Japanese Wisteria
Snow Showers™ Japanese Wisteria is a vigorous twining climber with long racemes of fragrant white flowers flushed with purple. It can be trained as a standard or along a wall, arch, or pergola, so choose a sturdy support before planting.
### Flowers and placement
The flowers open with the new leaves in May, and the cultivar is sold as a white-flowered form with a purple flush. A sunny to partly shaded position suits it; allow room for the trained framework and keep the soil fertile, moist, and well drained. [Frank P. ### Garden setting
The grower gives a 4 m height and spread after ten years. Use the vine to cover a pergola or wall, or train it as a free-standing half-standard. It is deciduous, so the structure is visible in winter. [RHS plant profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/117511/wisteria-floribunda-snow-showers/details)
## Maintenance
Prune after flowering to keep new growth on the chosen framework; this selection tolerates hard pruning. Keep the support strong as stems mature. Wisteria seeds and pods should not be eaten.
