Giant Dagger Yucca

Giant Dagger Yucca is a tree-like species with a symmetrical crown of long, upright green leaves. In late spring, tall branched spikes carry pendant, bell-shaped flowers described as white-greenish. ## Garden Use Give this architectural yucca room to develop its trunk and broad rosette, and use it as a focal specimen in a sunny, spacious planting. Its sword-shaped foliage and hanging skirt of older leaves create strong year-round structure. ## Growing Conditions The species grows in full sun and well-drained soil. Avoid wet or mucky ground, and acclimate plants gradually when moving them from shade-grown nursery conditions into strong outdoor sun. Choose a site suited to local winter conditions, and provide protection where cold exposure is severe. ## Maintenance Water carefully in the first season while roots establish, then avoid persistently wet soil.
