About Adam's Needle Yucca

Adam’s needle yucca (Yucca flaccida) is an evergreen, rosette-forming perennial with narrow, pointed leaves edged by fine curling filaments. In summer, tall stalks carry creamy white flowers visited by yucca moths, bees, and hummingbirds. ## Garden Placement Use its clumping rosettes as a textural accent in a dry border, rock garden, or container, leaving room for offsets to spread. Keep the sharp leaf tips away from narrow paths. The [North Carolina State Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/yucca-flaccida/) describes its summer flowers and pollinator relationships. ## Growing Conditions This yucca grows best in poor, dry, sandy loam or rocky soil and performs poorly in moist climates. Its evergreen leaves provide year-round structure, while the flowering stalks add a summer display. ## Maintenance Allow space for new offsets and remove spent flower stalks as needed. Wear gloves when handling the pointed foliage.
