About Sapphire Skies Beaked Yucca

Yucca rostrata ‘Sapphire Skies’ is a selected form valued for its dense crown of silvery, blue-green leaves. It grows slowly into a trunked, tree-like yucca and produces white flowers in summer. ## Garden Use Use the sculptural crown as a specimen in a dry garden or as a strong focal point in a large container. The foliage catches afternoon light and adds a cool blue tone to a sunny planting. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun to light, dappled shade in soil that drains freely; avoid standing water. The grower notes that supplemental irrigation can help during dry summers and lists USDA zone 6 hardiness. The RHS gives an eventual height range of 2.5–4 metres and spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. Water during prolonged summer dryness, then reduce irrigation in cool or wet conditions.
