Yuki Cherry Blossom® Deutzia

Yuki Cherry Blossom® is a low, mounded deutzia that covers itself with soft pink, bell-shaped flowers in spring. Its neat shape, useful groundcover habit, and burgundy-purple autumn foliage make it a colorful choice for sunny slopes and the front of a mixed border. ### Flowers and placement The [Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/deutzia/yuki-cherry-blossom-deutzia-x) identifies the selection as Deutzia × ‘NCDX2’ and lists mature height and spread of 12 inches to 2 feet. It describes pink spring flowers, a mounded habit, and uses in mass plantings, borders, and on slopes; the plant is also noted as deer resistant. Give it room to spread rather than treating it as a narrow upright shrub. ### Growing conditions Plant in full sun to part shade in ordinary garden soil with average moisture. The species is adaptable, and the low branching habit works well along a walk, on a sunny bank, or in a group beneath taller shrubs. The foliage adds a second season of color as it turns burgundy-purple in fall. ## Maintenance Pruning is seldom needed. If shaping is desired, trim soon after flowering so the next spring’s display can develop on the plant’s older growth.
