Yuki Kabuki Deutzia

Yuki Kabuki® is a compact, rounded deutzia with pink-and-white spring flowers and bright autumn foliage. Its naturally tidy shape fits mixed shrub borders, perennial beds, small hedges, and large containers without demanding frequent pruning. ### Flowers and placement The [Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/deutzia/yuki-kabuki-deutzia-x) gives mature dimensions of 2½–4 feet tall and wide and identifies the selection as Deutzia × ‘NCDX3’. It describes a mounded habit, spring flowers, and fall interest; the flowers also attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. ### Growing conditions Grow in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. This shrub flowers on older wood, so allow it to keep its natural rounded outline and avoid routine hard pruning. It can be used in groups, mixed borders, along an edge, or in a roomy container where its spring flowers and later foliage color can be enjoyed. ## Maintenance Little pruning is needed. If shaping is necessary, do it immediately after flowering so you do not remove next year’s buds. Apply spring fertilizer only as needed for healthy growth.
