Yuki Snowflake® Deutzia

Yuki Snowflake® is the Proven Winners name for the named Deutzia selection NCDX1, protected by U.S. plant patent 25,916 and Canadian registration 5078. It forms a compact shrub about 1–2 feet tall and wide, with abundant white flowers in spring and green foliage that turns deep burgundy-purple in autumn. ## Placement and display The breeder recommends USDA zones 5–8 and full sun to part sun. The rounded plant suits borders, foundation plantings, hedges, or a specimen position where its spring flower clusters can be appreciated. Average, moist, well-drained soil is listed; in a hot climate, provide some afternoon shade if needed. ## Growth and care Yuki Snowflake maintains its small size naturally and can be lightly trimmed after flowering if desired. It blooms on old wood, so avoid cutting it back before its spring display. The source also lists deer and rabbit resistance; as with any resistance claim, browsing may still occur under pressure. ## Maintenance Check local winter conditions and allow the full mature spread when spacing plants.
