About Magellan Cherry - Zinnia

Magellan Cherry is an upright, dwarf zinnia with fully double cherry-red flowers and yellow eyes. Its compact stems work in mixed plantings and the blooms are useful for cutting; spent flowers are covered by later branching, so routine deadheading is not required. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun. The [Ball profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=065704240001110) describes spring and summer bloom, medium water, and plants 12–14 inches tall by 10–12 inches wide. A [retail garden profile](https://www.gertens.com/zinnia-magellan-cherry) describes the cherry-red flowers, yellow centers, green foliage, and mid-spring-to-late-summer flowering. ## Maintenance Keep soil evenly moist while plants establish, then water with the weather. Provide good air movement and remove damaged foliage as needed; the plant's branching growth naturally covers many spent blooms.
